To All Madison Scout Alumni,

It is my honor on behalf of the Performers and Staff of the 1975 Drum Corps International Champions, to invite all Madison Scout Alumni, Family, and Friends to join us, as we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Our Undefeated, Gold Medal Season, on Friday, June 27th 2025! On this special evening, we will also be honoring the historic Silver Medal Seasons of the 1974 and 1976 Corps’.

The CHAMPIONS REUNION will be held at the Marriott Madison West, which is where we gathered in 2005 for our 30th Anniversary Celebration. The cost to attend is $100. per person, and is inclusive of the Meet & Greet reception with appetizers and cash bar, followed by a plated dinner with nonalcoholic beverages, and dessert bar.

Drum Corps International and Madison Scout Hall of Fame Member, James Elvord will be our Master of Ceremonies for this very special event. The Meet & Greet reception will be set-up for photo opportunities with a CHAMPIONS REUNION backdrop, Championship Trophies, Flags, and Memorabilia. There will be many Staff Members, Performers, and Special Guests, including all 3 Drum Majors (Elvord, Schultz, & Schrack), sharing our history and fun stories throughout the evening! We will also be honoring and acknowledging our Performers, Staff, and Volunteers who have passed on, and were a big part of our Championship Era success. All of this with exciting multi-media support from Jim Webb and The WebbWorks of Tampa, FL!

This winter, over 700 young musicians and performers will engage with the Madison Scouts organization in pursuit of their goal to be selected to become a member of the 2025 corps. These students will get a chance to learn from some of the best instructors in the activity while experiencing the pride of performing with the Madison Scouts.

All alumni of the Madison Scouts from all decades are welcome to join the performers, staff, volunteers, and family members of the championship-era Madison Scouts. Celebrate the 50th anniversary of their DCI undefeated gold medal season. They will also include recognition of the two silver medal seasons, the 1974 and 1976 seasons. Check out the schedule.

The 2024 season and year are behind us, and the 2025 season groundwork is underway. This past season went by way too fast. We have had an exciting year of events that many Alumni participated in! Our Scouts had a fantastic year. Fighting their way back into the top 12. Please help support the corps and keep this tremendous momentum in the future! Participation is key in helping us grow our great organization while supporting our Madison Scouts.

This coming 2025 year and season are shaping up to be exciting! We want to engage many more alumni to help us support our scouts and get the alumni socially together to revive old friendships and make new ones.

The following are some of the projects that are ahead for 2025. As always, we would love for our Alumni base to be part of these activities. We welcome you and look forward to seeing you.

Dear all Madison Corps Alumni-

Thank you for taking the time to fill out our most recent alumni survey.

After overwhelming positive responses sent to us, we have decided to reapply for the 2027 Rose Parade.

Moving forward:
1. You do not need to do anything if you have registered and paid your deposit on our website.
2. If you have not registered and paid your deposit, we encourage you to do so as soon as possible. This includes the few of you who received refunds from us. You will need to reapply/register/pay.
3. Please encourage other alumni from any of the Madison-based corps to register and make a deposit (Madison Scouts, Capitolaires, Jr Scouts, Petites, Capitol Sound, 32nd Hussar, Southwind). Members of the 2027 Madison Scouts will also be involved.
4. Check our website on occasion for updated information.
5. Contact us with any questions or concerns.

Rest assured that you may ask for your deposit back if your circumstances change.

For the past few years, we’ve let alumni vote on a Legacy Shirt to be brought back for one year only. Last year, we reproduced the iconic Lemon Squeeze! This year, we’re taking our Legacy Shirt fundraiser to the next step!

This year, you design it!

CH Beebe: Please donate to the CH Beebe campaign. Each donation will be recognized on our booster boards, and you will receive a CH Beebe commemorative challenge coin. This will help a deserving Scout attain their dream of becoming a Scout!!

Legacy Shirts
For the last few years we've let you vote on which legacy shirt we should bring back. This year YOU design the shirt! Show us what shirt you think we should produce, and we'll pick the best one! Submit a reproduction of an old shirt, or make a completely new design. It's all up to you. Submit a Design

The Rose Committee's decision

As almost everyone now knows, the Rose Parade Committee did not select us for the 2026 parade. The choice came down to a tie between our group and a Wisconsin High School. Since it was evenly split, the acting chairperson cast the tie-breaking vote for the band.

We spoke directly with one of the committee board members who had voted for us and recommended that we apply again for the 2027 event. It is noted that one of the people who voted for us in the split decision will be next year's chairperson. From a historical perspective, we have discovered that very few organizations are selected on their first try, and we've talked with a few who have tried for many years and are still waiting for their chance.
